Ever notice when you switch to different modules your screen size shrinks. This is particularly frustrating when in the High resolution module. To combat this you can simply float the fly out panel. To do this simply click on the "thumb tack" (auto hide) and the panel will collapse into the side. When creating an image the panel will now float over the screen, and not change the zoom in the graphics window.
Tomorrow June 9th there will be a webinar showing some of the DMU functionality. To register please use the link below:
CATIA CAD Geek Radio (CCGR) show #001 is ready to air. This is the first in what hopes to be many episodes. Not exactly sure what the interval will be, but for starters I’d like to try for once a month, if not more. So sit back and enjoy the show.

Link dump – Some things I talked about in this episode:
It’s possible to to move elements that are fully constrained without double clicking the value. To do this simply hold down Shift then click and drag the element you wish to move. Any associated constrained will be turned into a Reference while you are dragging the geometry. When you release the geometry, the constraints will hold their new values.
Have you lost your icons? Sometimes icons seem to disappear as if by magic. First you can try going Tools | View | Toolbars and see it the toolbar that contains you icon is “checked”. This means the toolbar is on and somewhere on your screen. If you still can’t find your icon, go to Tools | Customize. On the Toolbar tab select the Restore contents and or Restore positions to place everything back to CATIA default.
While using the Search in the CAA Encyclopedia on V5R19SP4 level, the following error may appear:
java io.FileNotFoundException: E:\CATIA\CAADoc\Doc\online\CAAWsmBase\index\tttoo.txt (The system cannot find the path specifies)
Our development team is already working on a fix. Yet a workaround is available:
1. Request the fix from firstname.lastname@example.org
2. extract the CONCAT.txt file and replace the CAA installation version of this file /CAADoc/Doc/online/CONCAT.txt
Your sheet or view size has now been modified.
When I am showing customers how Vault and ProductStream function, I typically show the interface, dialog boxes, and prompts like they are when the software is installed. If I were using Vault in a production environment, I would usually always have the same response to dialog boxes and prompts. It is now possible to completely streamline the Vault interface so that a CAD user might not even know they are checking files out and back in to Vault. Just take a look at the Vault Options available in the CAD Application and it could improve your workflow as well.
